What to look for when restarting workplaces?

On this page

In the last few months, we have seen organisations across Europe imposing various obligations on their employees, visitors and customers to fight the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The underlying measures began with the completion of questionnaires on health conditions and have progressed to requiring temperature checks of people entering premises and installing thermal cameras at office entrances. Today, some employees whose presence is essential for business continuity receive regular blood tests.

Showcasing our widespread expertise in the region and in this particular field of data protection law, CMS has published comprehensive data protection guidance for those employers who are considering reactivating their workplaces, and those that did not shut down their on-site operations. The guidance includes a brief, one-page summary guide for 12 CEE jurisdictions as well as the United Kingdom and includes a helpful overview of the key data protection issues.

The publication does not constitute legal advice. All legal matters must be decided on a case-by-case basis in the light of all circumstances and subject to a thorough legal assessment under local law.
