The new rules approved by ERSE concerning System Regulation Charges (ERS) enter into force today, following the publication in the Portuguese Official Gazette of the following instruments:
- ERSE Directive No. 5/2026, of 5 November, which introduces the first amendment to the Procedures Manual for the Global Management of the Electricity System (MPGGS); and
- Regulation No. 1530/2026, of 5 November, which introduces the first amendment to the Electricity Sector Tariff Regulation.
As previously reported, these rules were defined by ERSE on 15 October, following Public Consultation No. 142.
In recent years, ERS have experienced significant growth and high levels of volatility. The changes now introduced are intended to enhance the stability and predictability of these charges.
