Munich – Afinum Achte Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG has indirectly acquired a majority stake in the SanderStrothmann Group, a leading full-service provider of cosmetics, beauty and healthcare products. Afinum is investing together with managing directors Sabrina Berghaus and Stefan Vogels as part of a business succession arrangement.
The SanderStrothmann Group, consisting of the two companies SanderStrothmann GmbH and Compes Cosmetic GmbH & Co. KG, is one of the leading certified full-service providers in the fast-growing market for cosmetics, beauty and healthcare products. The companies, which are both located in Georgsmarienhütte (Lower Saxony), together employ around 160 people.
The acquisition was advised on jointly by Dr Hermann Rock, General Counsel at Afinum, and Dr Oliver Thurn as lead partner on the CMS side. A team led by Stuttgart-based CMS partner Dr Marc Seibold advised on legal aspects of the acquisition financing. Private equity investor Afinum is a longstanding CMS client and relies on the Munich office’s expertise on a regular basis, including most recently when acquiring a majority stake in the Listan Group.
