Düsseldorf – AkzoNobel N.V., a global manufacturer of paints and specialty chemicals headquartered in the Netherlands, has acquired the alloy wheel liquid coatings business of Lankwitzer Lackfabrik GmbH, Berlin. The acquisition expands AkzoNobel’s coatings portfolio for wheel manufacturers. The acquired business operates mainly out of a manufacturing facility in Leipzig. Its products are approved for use by major car manufacturers such as Daimler, Audi, VW, Opel, Fiat and Renault. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2022 and is subject to approval by the competition authorities. Further details of the transaction were not disclosed.
A CMS team headed by lead partner Ernst-Markus Schuberth advised AkzoNobel on all legal aspects of the transaction. The company has also relied on the expertise of CMS in the past.
