Stuttgart – Robert Bosch Power Tools GmbH has established the Power for All Alliance together with Gardena GmbH. This will enable users to operate power tools, garden tools and household appliances from Bosch as well as products bearing the Gardena and other brand names with one and the same 18-volt battery. The shared goal is to offer users the largest cross-brand battery system and thus the widest application range for their home. The number of partners in the alliance will be gradually expanded.
A CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Gerald Gräfe advised Gardena on all legal aspects of drafting and negotiating the agreements for the project. In addition to clarifying preliminary competition law issues and drafting the Alliance Agreement, the main focus was on concluding long-term battery supply contracts between Bosch and Gardena. CMS regularly advises Gardena on distribution law matters.
Ulm-based Gardena GmbH was established in 1961 and has been part of Sweden’s Husqvarna Group since 2007. Gardena is now a leading European brand for high-quality garden tools with a presence in more than 80 countries worldwide.
Robert Bosch Power Tools GmbH is part of the Robert Bosch Group. In 2019, the company generated sales of around EUR 4.8 billion in more than 180 countries. It has some 20,000 employees.
