CMS advises NORD Holding on creation of multi-public cloud group through investment in three public cloud service providers

Cologne – NORD Holding has acquired a majority stake in public cloud service providers Cloudwürdig, Innovations On and DI-ON.solutions. This investment marks the start of creating a consolidated platform for cloud transformation and managed public cloud services that is fully focused on public cloud. The acquisition is currently awaiting approval from the competition authorities. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

A CMS team headed by lead partner Klaus Jäger and by Ramon Weistroffer advised NORD Holding on all legal aspects of the complex transaction structure. The private equity firm is a longstanding CMS client and relies on the team’s expertise on a regular basis.

The platform addresses the rapidly growing market for cloud-managed service solutions, focusing on enterprises and midmarket customers that are currently digitalising their workflows. The product portfolio, which consists of cloud-managed services, cloud consulting, cloud-native application development and work transformation, will be significantly expanded both organically and through acquisitions in the near future. Investment in another founding member of the platform is at the preparatory stage.

Hanover-based NORD Holding is one of the leading private equity asset management companies in Germany, with assets under management of around EUR 2.5 billion. It focuses on direct investments and fund of funds investments. NORD Holding currently has stakes in more than 15 companies in Germany and other German-speaking countries.
