Welcome to the Disputes 101: CMS Autumn Webinar Series

This series will take place over 11 weeks, every Wednesday from 8 September – 1 December 2021 at 2-3pm. Partners and associates from CMS’ litigation & arbitration team will run through the key essentials on topics relevant to disputes, to help improve your understanding and bring you up to date on the fundamental aspects of the disputes process, including litigation, arbitration, mediation and settlements. 

From understanding how to better communicate in a contentious environment to exploring the possibilities of alternative dispute resolution and analysing the fundamentals of reputation management, these webinars are aimed at in-house lawyers and non-lawyers at all levels of experience, regardless of business or sector area. This year the series has been updated to include new sessions, including one dedicated to arbitration and an introduction to class actions and competition disputes.

8 September - Introduction to Civil Litigation

  • Summary of common causes of action / types of claim (e.g. breach of contract, breach of trust, breach of SPA warranty, shareholder disputes, etc.), possibility of criminal action (private prosecution)
