In April 2020, the government will implement in the private sector the reforms to the off payroll working rules (IR35). Broadly, the changes mean that where individuals provide their services through an intermediary, the end user client will become responsible for making a determination on status for tax purposes (assisted by an online tool known as CEST) and in some circumstances for accounting to HMRC for income tax and National Insurance contributions. This represents a significant shift in the tax risk for end user clients and potentially increased costs. In our webinar we will look at the practical issues that will face clients engaging contractors in this way, and the steps they should be taking now to prepare for the changes.
