Trustee training is essential for all occupational pension scheme trustees and forms an important part of helping trustees to comply with the trustee knowledge and understanding requirements in the Pensions Act 2004. With this in mind, we run a series of trustee training courses throughout the year. The dates of the courses in 2009 are:
- 21 January (there are still some places left)
- 22 April
- 17 June
- 16 September
Our trustee training courses give trustees practical advice on dealing with situations that commonly arise in trustees’ meetings through talks, discussion and interaction. They are suitable for recently appointed trustees and those seeking refresher training.
A comprehensive pack of course material will be supplied. The topics covered include:
- Basic legislative requirements
- Role of the trustee and key trustee duties
- Investment and funding
- Scheme documentation
- Management issues for trustees (including dealing with conflicts of interest)
All of the courses are held at our London offices and run from 10.00am (with registration at 9.30) to 4.00pm. They include breakfast and lunch. The cost per delegate is £450 plus VAT (total £517.50).
