The Biomethane Action Plan 2024-2040 was put out for public consultation on January 25.
The aim of this plan is to stimulate the biomethane market as a sustainable alternative to reduce dependence on natural gas imports in the industrial and domestic sectors. In addition, it aims to provide strategic sectors with the necessary capacity to exploit the potential of biogas, with a view to establishing an internal market for biomethane, strengthening the growth of the national biomethane market as a strategic element for decarbonization and the advancement of the bioeconomy, decarbonizing the national economy, attracting new green industries, driving the transition to a carbon-neutral economy, creating jobs, fostering territorial cohesion and promoting sustainable economic growth.
Anyone wishing to take part in the public consultation that is now open can do so by visiting the public consultation website and filling in the form that is available for this purpose.
All contributions must be submitted by February 9th.
