Munich – AFINUM Achte Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG has taken a stake in Ledlenser GmbH & Co. KG, a maker of LED torches and head torches. Acting as lead investor and majority shareholder alongside INVISION and the management team, it was advised by Munich-based AFINUM Management GmbH. The investment will be used to accelerate the firm’s international expansion in the coming years. The parties agreed not to disclose the transaction value.
With the support of General Counsel Dr Hermann Rock, an international CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Oliver Thurn, Private Equity partner Dr Jacob Siebert and Tax partner Jörg Schrade provided AFINUM with cross-border advice on all legal aspects of the transaction and on tax matters. Private equity investor AFINUM relies on the expertise of CMS on a regular basis, including with regard to its investment in ventilation system manufacturer Ventomaxx and premium food concept Zeit für Brot, on which partners Oliver Thurn and Jacob Siebert likewise advised.
Headquartered in Solingen and with a production site in Yanjiang (China), Ledlenser is regarded as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-quality LED torches and head torches for professional, outdoor and everyday use. Established in 1994, the company is credited with inventing the LED torch.
AFINUM is an independent management-owned private equity firm with offices in Munich, Zurich, Vienna and Hong Kong. It specialises in taking stakes in successful mid-market companies in the German-speaking region of Europe. The investment in Ledlenser is the fourth platform investment by AFINUM Achte Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG.
