CMS advises PE investor Demeter on investment in premium e-scooter manufacturer Egret

Stuttgart – Demeter, a major European private equity investor in the sustainability segment, has invested in Egret, a Hamburg-based developer and manufacturer of high-quality, foldable and innovative e-scooters. The investment was made through Demeter’s growth capital fund Paris Fond Vert, which was launched by Demeter in 2018 on the initiative of the City of Paris with the aim of supporting the development of innovative fast-growing SMEs, thereby accelerating the energy and environmental transition of major cities. Egret intends to use the capital to expand the brand’s qualitative and technological dominance.

A CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Tobias Schneider advised Demeter on all legal aspects of the investment. At the beginning of the year, CMS advised the French PE investor on its investment in Cuculus, a leading developer of software solutions for critical infrastructure.
