CMS has advised Amey on the acquisition of Briggs' interest in the defence equipment joint venture, AmeyBiggs, to take full ownership as part of Amey’s wider growth ambitions to broaden its services and capabilities in the defence sector.

Operating out of over 20 sites across the UK, AmeyBriggs maintains and manages the Ministry of Defence’s fleet of construction and materials handling equipment. The joint venture recently secured a contract to support and manage vital airfield ancillary equipment on behalf of the RAF.

Jennifer Louch, CMS Corporate Senior Associate, comments: “We’re pleased to have advised Amey on this strategic joint venture buyout which sees them take full ownership of AmeyBriggs. The CMS Corporate team is experienced at advising on transactions of this nature and our full-service offering means that we can provide 360-degree support.”

The CMS team was led by Jennifer Louch and included Aisling Knapton, Adam Fenby-Betts and Olivia Seymour (Corporate); Kabir Garyali and Finn Potter (Competition); Mark Walker (Employment); Duncan Turner and Neil Falconer (Commercial); and John Hanratty (Pensions).
