We are delighted to invite you to the third webinar from the CMS Commercial Law Group's webinar series for 2015.

This CMS webinar will focus on class actions in the UK and Poland, where there have been a number of recent developments. Zsolt Okányi, partner at CMS Hungary, will provide an overview from a wider perspective and moderate the discussion, whilst David Bridge (CMS UK) and Adam Jodkowski (CMS Poland) will give an insight into the position in their respective jurisdictions.

The UK section will explain the legal framework for bringing such claims, the challenges in dealing with them and comments on examples of recent high profile group litigation. We will also explore emerging trends and future predictions for class actions in the UK.

The next section will provide a general overview of Polish law on group action proceedings, which was implemented in 2009 and since then is becoming an increasingly important mechanism of pursuing claims, especially consumer claims. The presentation will focus on group action admissibility criteria and stages of group action proceedings. Examples of group actions filed in Poland, especially cases that are handled by CMS Poland, will be discussed as well.

There will be the opportunity to ask questions throughout the webinar.
