In a ju­dg­ment ren­de­red on 17 Oc­to­ber 2019, the Bel­gi­an Con­sti­tu­ti­o­nal Court ru­led that the na­ti­o­nal tax on se­cu­ri­ties ac­counts is un­con­sti­tu­ti­o­nal and then an­nul­led the tax, alt­hough this an­nul­ment did not ha­ve a re­tro-ac­ti­ve ef­fect.
