Programme

26 November 2024

14:00 - 15:00 CEST

Notwithstanding the extraordinary times we’ve all been operating in, the insurance sector continues to deal with fast-paced changes. Insurance companies should keep up with changing regulations and market trends that will impact on their day-to-day operations and long-term business.

It has become crucial for (re)insurers, brokers, their risk managers and general counsels to get the right insight and advice across a wide range of claims and coverage, and regulatory and corporate issues.

To deliver the expert responses that the insurance market needs, the CMS Insurance Group has developed a comprehensive programme for 2024.

Below you will find recordings of the finished webinars

Drawing on their experience of working on incidents around the globe, the CMS team will identify notable, unusual and unique features of the local legal and regulatory regimes as applicable to cyber incidents, comment on the risks to companies arising from a data breach and provide practical advice on how to manage and resolve an incident efficiently.

Natural Catastrophes and Reinsurance Implications

Following our recent webinar on Crowdstrike, we will now be looking at reinsurance implications arising from natural catastrophes. As we witness a rising trend in natural catastrophes, including the recent floods in the South of Brazil and Hurricane Milton, understanding this evolving landscape is more crucial than ever.

In this webinar, we will discuss issues for cedants and reinsurers arising from natural catastrophes from both a legal and market perspective, including:

  • The impact of the Court of Appeal’s recent decision in UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA v Covéa Insurance Plc;
  • The application of aggregation terms (e.g. “catastrophe” and “event”) and hours clauses to natural catastrophes; and
  • Best practices for managing claims post-catastrophe.
