International law firm CMS has advised LiveScore on a strategic investment from Swiss-based media and technology company Ringier, valuing the business at £500 million.

Founded in 2019 by former Gamesys Chairman and co-founder Noel Hayden, and led by industry veteran Sam Sadi, LiveScore Group is a rapidly scaling sports media and online gaming operator. It incorporates the brands LiveScore, LiveScore Bet and Virgin Bet. With this investment, LiveScore is planning to continue its expansion in Central and Eastern Europe.

CMS Corporate partner Rob Willis comments: “We are delighted to have advised LiveScore on this deal. The company has enjoyed enviable results in a highly competitive market, and we look forward to seeing them expand to new territories under this partnership.”

The multidisciplinary CMS team was led by Rob Willis, with support from Max Weaver, Sam Pout, Jas Randhawa and Nathan Jest (Corporate); Stephen Hignett, Andrew Quayle and Robert Sartor (Tax), Anna Soilleux-Mills, Ben McLaughlin and Ben Roach (Gambling Regulatory and Commercial); Oscar Webb (IP); and Emma Sweetman (Employment).
