Leipzig – Serco Group, which specialises in government services, has agreed to acquire European Homecare, a company focusing on social services, from the Korte Foundation. The Essen-based provider is to be acquired by the London Stock Exchange-listed group for a purchase price of around 40 million euros. European Homecare is regarded as the leading private provider of immigration services in Germany and offers a comprehensive range of services from accommodation, medical and social care to training and education. European Homecare employs over 2,000 people, manages around 100 centres and provides accommodation and support to more than 36,000 asylum seekers.
With the acquisition, Serco aims to further expand its capabilities in the field of international immigration services. The global group already provides comprehensive immigration support services to government clients in the UK, Australia and across Europe.
