Berlin – Sunlight Group Energy Storage Systems (Sunlight Group), a technology company headquartered in Athens, Greece, specializing in integrated and innovative industrial and off-road energy storage solutions, acquires 51 percent of the share capital of German Triathlon Holding GmbH. The target company specializes in high-performance battery systems for various purposes. The transaction is considered a landmark for Sunlight's expansion business, especially with regard to the landscape of industrial motive power batteries and energy storage systems. Both companies will continue their autonomous commercial operations, but will leverage synergies for the global market in existing and new areas. Details of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisition is still subject to approval by the relevant authorities.
A CMS team led by Dr Igor Stenzel provided comprehensive legal advice to the Sunlight Group on the acquisition. A special focus was on a comprehensive due diligence in Germany and various jurisdictions abroad. The CMS team also handled merger control and foreign trade aspects of the transaction. Australia was also included. The Sunlight Group regularly relies on the expertise of CMS, for example when acquiring 51 percent in A. Müller GmbH, a wholesaler for industrial battery power supply systems.
