Annabelle Lepièce is gespecialiseerd in Europees recht, meer bepaald mededingingsrecht (overheidssteun, concentraties, kartels en misbruik van machtspositie) en in buitenlandse subsidies (EU FSR) en de filteren van directe buitenlandse investeringen (FDI), alsook de vrije verlening van diensten, het vrije verkeer van goederen en de vrijheid van vestiging.

Op het gebied van mededingingsrecht adviseert het bedrijven over verticale overeenkomsten of samenwerking met concurrenten, of over hun acties (tarieven, kortingen, toegang tot essentiële infrastructuur, enz. Ze brengt de Europese Commissie of de Belgische mededingingsautoriteit op de hoogte van voorgenomen fusies. Hij dient klachten in bij de mededingingsautoriteiten of vertegenwoordigt ondernemingen waartegen een onderzoek loopt. Ze staat hen bij tijdens huiszoekingen. Ze geeft opleidingen.

Ze staat overheidsinstanties en ondernemingen bij in Europees recht, in het kader van de omzetting van richtlijnen of de conformiteit van hun acties en projecten met het Europees recht. Zij vertegenwoordigt hen in het kader van onderzoeken van de Europese Commissie naar staatssteun, het beheer van EFRO-middelen, inbreukprocedures, enz.

Ze verwierf met name een uitgebreide ervaring in de luchtvaartsector (financiering van activiteiten en infrastructuur van luchthavens, overeenkomsten met vliegtuigmaatschappijen, handling, luchthavenvergoedingen, veiligheid enz.), de banksector, de staalindustrie, energie en overheidsinvesteringen (kapitaalinterventies, waarborgen, leningen).

Haar praktijk omvat onder meer de voorbereiding van en aanmelding bij de Europese Commissie van overheidsmaatregelen, steunregimes (zoals voor onderzoek- en ontwikkelingsprojecten of de minimis-investeringen) en concentratieprojecten, de neerlegging van klachten of de vertegenwoordiging van ondernemingen voor de Europese Commissie en de nationale mededingingsautoriteiten, het voeren van beroepsprocedures voor het Hof van Justitie van de Europese Unie en het adviseren van overheidsinstellingen betreffende de conformiteit van hun handelingen met het toepasselijke Europese recht.

Annabelle ontwikkelde een minutieuze kennis van de luchtvaartsector. Ze heeft de Belgische autoriteiten vertegenwoordigd in het kader van het onderzoek van de Europese Commissie naar de financiering van de luchthaven van Charleroi en Ryanair sinds 2002. Ze staat de regionale bevoegde overheden en de Franse, Nederlandse, Roemeense en Spaanse luchthavens bij en verzekert dat hun financieringen en de commerciële contracten die ze afsluiten met vliegtuigmaatschappijen beantwoorden aan de Europese staatssteunregels.

Annabelle wordt sterk aanbevolen als advocaat in de laatste editie van de 100 Global Competition Review en is erkend in de 2025-editie van Women in Antitrust.

Annabelle staat ook vermeld in de Chambers Global 2025 in staatssteun (band 2), Chambers Europe 2025 in mededinging en staatssteun (band 2) en in de 2025-editie van de Legal 500 EMEA in mededinging (tier 2 en toonaangevend individu) en in luchtvaart (tier 3 en toonaangevend individu).

Annabelle werd ook verkozen tot een van 's werelds meest vooraanstaande beoefenaars van mededingingsrecht - staatssteun in het rapport Who's Who Legal: Competition 2025.

Ze is regelmatig spreker op conferenties en geeft colleges over overheidssteun aan de Université Paris I - Panthéon-Sorbonne, aan de École Nationale d'Administration publique commune van de Franse Gemeenschap en het Waalse gewest, aan de École Nationale d'Aviation Civile, de Vergadering van Europese Gewesten, Connect, enz.

Annabelle Lepièce presenteerde het Wahlub-project met Agoria in december 2022 in het kader van een workshop voor Europese digitale innovatieclusters.

Zij wordt herhaaldelijk uitgenodigd door het Europees Comité van de Regio's op hoorzittingen, als deskundige inzake overheidssteun. Zo nam zij deel op 19 september 2016 als expert ter zake aan een presentatie over de communicatie van de Europese Commissie aan de leden van Comité van de Regio's over het begrip “overheidssteun”, naast de vertegenwoordigers van de Europese Commissie.

Annabelle wordt vaak genoemd in de pers. Op 26 september 2023 werd ze genoemd in de artikel "België schort onderzoek naar bankkartel op" van Julie Masson voor haar expertise in Antitrust.

Ze is lid van het “Competition Women's network” en de Vereniging voor de studie van mededingingsrecht en werd uitgenodigd om toe te treden tot de nieuwe “European State Aid Law Association”.

Sinds 2011 geeft Annabelle Lepièce jaarlijks een uiteenzetting betreffende overheidssteun in de luchtvaartsector aan de École Nationale d’Aviation Civile (nationale burgerluchtvaartschool, ENAC – Toulouse) in het kader van de gespecialiseerde masters over luchthaven- en luchtvaartmanagement, en aan de Université Panthéon – Sorbonne te Parijs in het kader van de Master II - Internationaal transport.
