Cologne – Global paint and coatings producer Kansai Helios has acquired all the shares in CWS Lackfabrik GmbH (CWS), a specialist in powder coatings and synthetic resins. The deal includes the group companies in Germany, the US, Denmark and Poland. Based in Düren (North Rhine-Westphalia), the group is highly regarded worldwide as a producer of powder coatings as well as liquid and solid synthetic resins. The transaction represents a long-term opportunity for Kansai Helios to expand its strategic market position in the coatings industry while extending its own expertise in powder coatings, synthetic resins and its existing liquid coatings business. The transaction is currently awaiting approval from the competition authorities. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

They also negotiated the complex set of agreements and advised on the competition law aspects of the transaction.
