Did you know that certain work and residence authorisations are subject to the national employment framework? If there are employees in the region with the capacity and readiness to perform a job, the administration may reject a foreign national’s application for a work permit. In this regard, the Spanish National Public Employment Service issues a list of jobs that are difficult to fill (“Catálogo de Ocupaciones de Difícil Cobertura”), such as professional sports people or jobs carried out on vessels.
