| Footnotes and Notes | Non-commercial organisations can under certain conditions be licensed to provide small-scale and low-risk gambling services, and profits from such gambling services must be used on the non-commercial activities of the organization. In an amendment of the Norwegian Gambling Act from 2024 (Norwegian: “Pengespilloven”), Norwegian internet providers are obliged to, on request from the Norwegian Gambling and Foundation Authority, DNS block foreign websites that offer gambling services to the Norwegian market without license. [1] The Norwegian regime is a de facto state monopoly. The state-owned Norsk Tipping has the sole rights to provide online and mobile gambling in Norway, in addition to the foundation Norsk Rikstoto, which currently owns the sole licence to offer gambling on horse racing. | |
