Special taxes on financial institutions and transactions
This session will focus on special bank and financial transactions taxes which have been or are proposed to be introduced as a response to the financial crisis. The EU Commission has proposed a Financial Transactions Tax to raise funds from the financial services sector, and various EU Member States have already introduced special taxes for banks and financial institutions.
