CMS assists Mosa Meat B.V. in accession by investors Nutreco and Lowercarbon Capital

CMS has assisted Mosa Meat B.V. in the accession by Nutreco and Lowercarbon Capital as further investors, acquiring undisclosed stakes in the company's share capital. Mosa Meat CEO Maarten Bosch commented: "As we enter a new phase, we’re excited to work with Nutreco, who have brought us their deep expertise managing manufacturing supply chains at a truly global scale, as well as Lowercarbon Capital, who draw on deep experience accelerating companies to have a global impact."

Cultured meat
Mosa Meat is a cultured meat start-up based in Maastricht, The Netherlands, whose team (led by nutrition expert Peter Verstrate and chief scientific officer Prof. Mark Post) created the world's first cultured hamburger - with meat grown directly from animal cells rather than raising and slaughtering an animal.

Nutreco is a global leader in animal nutrition and aquafeed, with some 12,000 employees, activities in 37 countries and net sales of EUR 6.4 billion (2018). Lowercarbon Capital is a new US-based venture capital fund led by Chris Sacca, investing in planet healing technologies.
