Severin Grünwald advises and represents national and international clients in legal disputes and helps them to avoid contentious proceedings before they arise. His practice focuses on clients from the automotive and mobility industries as well as the banking sector. He has particular experience in representing listed companies in highly complex commercial disputes with strategic relevance.
One of his main areas of expertise is handling mass litigation, class actions and consumer actions, including the structuring and coordination of extensive sets of proceedings. He also advises on general civil law and commercial law, specialising in product liability law, law concerning general terms and conditions and regulatory issues. In his litigation work, he puts particular emphasis on a forward-looking litigation strategy and an economically sound risk assessment.
In addition to his forensic work, Severin Grünwald develops and implements legal tech applications to increase efficiency in contentious proceedings. He also deals with the targeted use of AI for data-based analysis and structuring of large volumes of proceedings. He joined CMS in 2022, having previously worked at two law firms specialising in litigation and banking law in Munich and Frankfurt.
