CMS advises BayernLB on reorganisation of control and management IT

13/01/2022

Hamburg – BayernLB is completely reorganising its IT systems for management and control as part of a major project. To improve the existing situation, BayernLB is adopting an integrated banking platform that brings together the key management and control functions on the basis of SAP S/4HANA.

A CMS team headed by lead partners Philipp Lotze and Dr Michael Kraus advised BayernLB on all legal aspects of drafting and negotiating the relevant agreement. A particular focus of the advice was on ensuring compliance with banking supervisory law and data protection law. Another key area was handling the contractual aspects of spinning off SAP Fioneer as an independent financial services unit outside the SAP Group.

The aim of reorganising management and control is to cut the bank’s total costs by deploying high-performance IT infrastructure that will significantly reduce complexity and ensure that processes are supported efficiently.
